South Korea Brokerages Report 141% Net Profit Surge in Q2/Q4 Amid Trading Boom

According to Financial News and F&Guide on July 5, South Korea's five major brokerage and financial firms—Mirae Asset Securities, Samsung Securities, Kiwoom Securities, Korea Financial Group, and NH Investment & Securities—posted combined net profit of 4.208 trillion won for the second and fourth quarters of 2026, up 141.4% year-over-year. KB Securities estimated average daily trading volume in stocks and exchange-traded funds at 118.6 trillion won for the period, a 326.8% increase compared to the same quarters last year, with brokerage commission revenue expected to surge 192.6%.
