SK Hynix Plans 80 Trillion Won Investment in New NAND Fab by 2029

SK Hynix announced on Thursday, according to an event attended by its CEO and South Korean President Lee Jae-myung, that the company plans to invest 80 trillion won (approximately $51.46 billion) to build a new NAND flash memory manufacturing facility. The company will begin construction of the M17 fab in Cheongju, South Korea next year, with operations expected to commence in 2029.

Additionally, SK Hynix plans to invest 20 trillion won in a new chip packaging facility at the same location, expected to be completed by the end of 2027.
