Six Chinese Banks Complete 125 Offshore RMB Trades Totaling 7.238 Billion Yuan on June 17

According to China Foreign Exchange Trade System, on June 17, six banks—Industrial Bank, Agricultural Bank, Bank of China, Construction Bank, Bank of Communications, and CITIC Bank—completed 125 offshore RMB foreign exchange trades totaling 7.238 billion yuan on the platform in Shanghai Free Trade Zone.

The trades included spot transactions against 13 currencies (USD, EUR, JPY, HKD, GBP, CAD, AUD, SGD, NZD, CHF, ZAR, TRY, and THB) as well as forward and swap contracts. The announcement was made following an authorization by People's Bank of China Governor Pan Gongsheng at the Lujiazui Forum.
