Shanxi Safety Inspections Halt 112 Coal Mines as of May 29, Straining Coking Coal Supply

According to Guangfa Futures and Mysteel, as of May 29, 112 coal mines with a combined capacity of 122 million tons remained offline across Shanxi province due to intensified safety inspections. Since May 23, safety checks across major production regions including Changzhi, Lüliang, Jinzhong, and Linfen have forced a total of 130 coal mines offline; 18 mines resumed production by May 29. The inspections are expected to continue through July, affecting key coking coal production areas.
