Five Senate Democrats called for congressional hearings on Friday after financial disclosures revealed President Trump's crypto holdings generated over $1.2 billion in income last year. The lawmakers, who lead the Senate Banking, Investigations, Homeland Security, Judiciary, and Finance committees, cited concerns about conflicts of interest, foreign influence, and Trump's role in shaping crypto policy while profiting from the industry. Trump's disclosures showed more than $635 million from his Trump meme coin and over $588 million from World Liberty Financial token sales. The group also noted that unknown third-parties, including UAE royals who purchased a 49% stake in World Liberty Financial, hold stakes in the president's crypto ventures.
