Semiconductor Packaging Companies Raise Prices Amid Supply Chain Bottleneck

According to industry reports, semiconductor packaging and test (OSAT) suppliers have begun raising prices as supply chain constraints intensify in 2026. Morgan Stanley has raised its forecast for China's humanoid robot shipments this year to 50,000 units, up from earlier projections of 14,000 and 28,000 units, signaling increased demand for semiconductor components. Yageo has already raised prices on multiple products including MLCCs, aluminum electrolytic capacitors, tantalum capacitors, polymer aluminum capacitors, film capacitors, and supercapacitors. Test probes and sockets are expected to follow suit, driven by rising precious metal costs and supply constraints in test needle production.
