Securitize Files Suit Against tZERO Over Patent Dispute, Seeks Non-Infringement Declaration on June 16

According to The Block, on June 16, tokenization platform Securitize filed suit against digital securities infrastructure firm tZERO in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, asking the court to declare it does not infringe on two patents.

The lawsuit followed tZERO's cease-and-desist letter accusing Securitize's DS Protocol and Vault Registrar products of infringing patents related to self-enforcing security tokens and crypto integration infrastructure. Securitize argued its products lack key elements covered by tZERO's patents, including trade execution and transaction-signing functions. The suit seeks a declaratory judgment on non-infringement and an injunction barring tZERO from using the patents against Securitize.
