According to Saudi state news agency SPA, on Wednesday, Saudi armed forces coordinated with U.S. Central Command to conduct airstrikes against Iranian-backed militia groups in Iraq linked to attacks on Saudi oil facilities. Saudi Arabia stated the strikes were an exercise of its "self-defense right" and said it does not seek escalation.
However, the statement added that if subjected to further attacks, the kingdom will "take all necessary measures without hesitation to preserve its sovereignty, protect its citizens and national properties."
