Samsung Launches Gen 8.6 OLED Panel Production in June for Apple MacBook Ultra, Replacing Mini-LED

Samsung has begun mass production of its Gen 8.6 OLED panel this month, specifically designed for Apple's upcoming 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Ultra models, according to industry reports. The dual-layer OLED panels will replace the long-used Mini-LED displays, offering peak brightness 2 to 4 times higher than conventional single-layer OLED and reducing power consumption by approximately 30 percent. The dual-layer structure also extends panel lifespan by 4 to 5 times by lowering electrical stress on materials. MacBook Ultra's display will additionally feature touch functionality and a Dynamic Island design.
