Samchundang Pharmaceuticals Falls 8.94% on July 22, Following FDA Pre-ANDA Uncertainty

According to the Korea Exchange, Samchundang Pharmaceuticals fell 8.94% (down 15,000 won to 152,800 won) on July 22, with shares declining for a second consecutive day. The stock reversed sharply after the company received an FDA Pre-ANDA response on July 20 regarding its oral semaglutide generic candidate, initially triggering a daily trading halt (limit-up). However, the stock hit the lower daily limit on July 21 after Samchundang declined to publicly disclose the full FDA response due to confidential business information, citing heightened uncertainty. The company stated the price movements reflect market supply-demand factors rather than changes to fundamentals, with its Canada contract work and oral insulin clinical trial progressing as scheduled.
