Ripple CEO Garlinghouse Responds to Jamie Dimon's Clarity Act Criticism

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse recently responded to JPMorgan boss Jamie Dimon's criticism of the Clarity Act, pending U.S. legislation that would establish a regulatory framework for the crypto ecosystem. Garlinghouse said Dimon is either "intentionally misrepresenting" or "negligent" in claiming the bill reduces compliance concerns. Dimon's main objection stems from a Clarity Act provision allowing crypto exchanges to offer stablecoin yields. Garlinghouse argued Dimon wants to "maintain the status quo" and protect JPMorgan's profitable business from crypto competition. The Clarity Act passed a Senate Committee vote last month and moves next to the Senate floor, with prediction market users on Polymarket assigning it a 47% chance of becoming law this year.
