According to CNBC, Quantum Systems completed a Series D funding round on Thursday, raising $1.2 billion and reaching a post-money valuation of approximately $8 billion. The autonomous defense startup, which develops unmanned systems for land, air, and sea operations, was co-led by Blackstone, Noteus, Airbus, and Advent, with additional participation from Bond, Fidelity Management and Research Company, Balderton, and HV Capital.
The company will deploy the capital to expand production capacity, strengthen supply chain resilience, scale operations across allied markets, and accelerate software and AI development. The funding arrives as defense technology companies raise at record pace—the sector has already secured $17.4 billion in 2026, according to Dealroom, surpassing the full-year 2025 total of $11.2 billion.
