According to Reuters, Nvidia told Chinese customers today they can start ordering its Vera processors for AI data centers, with systems potentially available as soon as August. One major Chinese cloud company plans to test more than 300 servers before deciding on formal orders, with each server using two Vera processors and initial deployments at overseas data centers.
The move comes after U.S. export policy for semiconductor shipments to China shifted from presumption of denial to case-by-case review in January 2026, allowing Nvidia to revive its China business following months of H200 shipment delays. Chinese customers have flagged concerns around software compatibility and workload migration, though Nvidia said Vera supports existing software.
