According to Guru Club, on July 23, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang criticized the Trump administration and policymakers for crafting AI regulations based on science fiction-like fears, warning that overregulation would hinder AI deployment and weaken U.S. competitiveness.

Huang dismissed claims that AI poses existential risks to humanity and would eliminate half of American jobs as "completely baseless." He cautioned that the greater risk lies in fear-driven policies discouraging AI adoption. He also indirectly rebuked other tech leaders by criticizing those seeking favorable regulatory rules under the guise of safety, noting some companies hope "the government will issue regulations tilted toward their own interests" to gain competitive advantage, in an apparent reference to lobbying efforts by OpenAI and Anthropic.
