Nvidia and Amkor Sign $1.5B Chip Packaging Agreement on Thursday

According to an official statement, Nvidia and Amkor Technology Inc. signed a $1.5 billion agreement on Thursday to enhance the latter's chip packaging facilities and expand semiconductor production capacity in Arizona. Under the deal, Nvidia will provide an advance payment to support Amkor's manufacturing capabilities. Amkor shares rose approximately 15% in after-hours trading. The partnership will focus on developing advanced chip packaging and testing technologies for artificial intelligence applications.
