NordVPN Identifies Hundreds of GTA 6 Phishing Sites Deploying Malware Targeting Crypto Wallets

According to NordVPN's threat intelligence team, the company recently identified hundreds of phishing sites, malware-laden game repacks and fake Android apps exploiting Grand Theft Auto VI anticipation. The campaign distributes credential-stealing malware families with documented histories of targeting banking trojans and cryptocurrency wallet private keys. Fake Rockstar Social Club login pages were hosted on legitimate platforms such as GitHub and Vercel, while malware samples used newly registered domains to evade detection. NordVPN noted that scammers are deliberately targeting platforms not confirmed for GTA 6's November 19, 2026 launch, particularly PC and Android users, with the infostealer families capable of extracting seed phrases from browser extensions, clipboard contents and password managers.
