NOAA Confirms El Niño Formation in Pacific, Predicts Record-Breaking Intensity by Fall

According to the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), El Niño has formed in the Pacific Ocean, with sea temperatures continuing to rise abnormally. The agency officially confirmed the phenomenon recently and projects it may reach historic strength levels.

NOAA's statement indicates a 63% probability that the El Niño will intensify sharply between late fall and early winter 2026.
