Morgan Stanley's ETRADE platform has launched spot cryptocurrency trading for eligible clients, enabling them to buy, sell, and hold Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana through a partnership with crypto infrastructure provider Zero Hash. The service is available to ETRADE's 8.6 million households, which held approximately $1.56 trillion in client assets as of March 31. Clients can trade the three cryptocurrencies with a 50-basis-point fee, though custody and transaction services are handled through separate Zero Hash accounts not covered by FDIC or SIPC protections. The rollout follows a pilot launched in May and represents part of Morgan Stanley's broader crypto expansion, which includes a spot Bitcoin ETF launched in April with a 0.14% management fee that has attracted approximately $385 million in cumulative net inflows.
