According to Fortune, Visa launched a stablecoin platform on July 16 to serve over 200 million merchants and 15,000 financial institutions. The platform integrates Visa's stablecoin services, enabling banks and fintech companies to embed stablecoins into existing payment and settlement systems. Visa annually settles approximately $15 trillion in payments and has already processed billions of dollars in stablecoin transactions.

The platform will use Open Standard's OUSD as its strategic foundation, alongside existing support for USDC and USDG. Merchants using stablecoins can achieve instant settlement and reduce transaction costs.
