According to Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing CEO Vera Chen, the London Metal Exchange’s approved warehouses in Hong Kong have expanded from 4 to 15 since last year, with storage capacity approaching saturation. Chen stated during an LME Asia Week seminar that the expansion represents a significant milestone in establishing physical market connectivity. LME and Hong Kong Exchanges plan to explore additional collaboration, including futures and renminbi-denominated products, to build a comprehensive commodities ecosystem in Asia.
