According to Lighter founder Vladimir Novakovski, the decentralized perpetual futures exchange has officially launched a quarterly token burning program. The announcement, made on social media platform X, revealed that over 16 million LIT tokens have been repurchased to date. Novakovski stated that the buyback and regular burning mechanisms aim to reduce circulating supply and support long-term ecosystem sustainability. He also emphasized that no changes were made to the company's issuance structure before or after the Token Generation Event, with existing investors choosing to hold their positions, signaling confidence in the project.
