According to Rain's "State of Stablecoins in Latin America" report, the region processed $1.5 trillion in stablecoin transactions between 2022 and 2025, with stablecoins serving as dollar proxies amid local currency devaluation. Users adopting stablecoins can reduce cross-border transfer fees by up to 92%. Rain cardholders in Colombia surged 64 times since the start of 2025, while spending with Rain cards in Bolivia increased more than 6 times in 2025, demonstrating growing adoption as an alternative finance tool in underbanked markets.
