KOSDAQ Low-Valuation Firms Hit 951, Up 32% Since President Lee's Inauguration

According to Korea Exchange, on July 22, 951 KOSDAQ-listed companies had a price-to-book ratio (PBR) below 1x, representing 53% of all 1,802 KOSDAQ-listed firms. This marks a significant increase from June 2, 2025, before President Lee Jae-myung took office, when only 723 companies (41% of total) had sub-1x PBR ratings.

The surge reflects a shift in market liquidity toward large-cap semiconductor stocks. Over the past year, KOSPI trading volume surged 254%, while KOSDAQ trading volume declined 5.9%. KOSDAQ's share of total domestic market turnover collapsed from 41.68% to 15.95%, indicating diminished investor attention to mid-cap and small-cap stocks.
