Kleros Founder Proposes Validator Reward Redirection Mechanism, Up to 10% to Ethereum Ecosystem Public Goods

ETH1.49%

According to Foresight News, Kleros founder Clément Lesaege proposed a validator reward redirection mechanism on EthResear.ch that would allow validators to redirect up to 10% of staking rewards toward Ethereum ecosystem public goods. If over 51% of validators agree, the redirection ratio would apply to all validators. Validators can select funding recipients and allocation proportions, with execution clients aggregating results through mechanisms such as King-of-the-Hill or Condorcet winner selection to minimize governance overhead.

The proposal notes potential risks including validator coalition formation and principal-agent problems between staking operators and their delegators. The proposal remains under discussion.
