KG Inicis Launches Deposit Token Payment Infrastructure Project Today with KISA

According to KG Inicis, the company today launched the 'Expanded Deposit Token Payment Infrastructure Project' under the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) as part of the Bank of Korea's Phase 2 digital currency initiative. The company will build a core application programming interface (API) to connect the Bank of Korea's digital currency system with its own payment gateway system, enabling merchants using KG Inicis' services to support deposit token payments without additional system development or costs. The Bank of Korea has set a target to convert 25% of national treasury execution to digital currency by 2030, with deposit token infrastructure expected to support government digital finance initiatives.
