According to Yonhap Infomax, Japan's Nikkei 225 index rose 148.47 points (0.21%) to 69,886.16 on July 7 morning, while the TOPIX gained 32.44 points (0.79%) to 4,134.40. The gains were driven by overnight strength in U.S. equities, particularly technology stocks. The Philadelphia Semiconductor Index surged over 2%, and sentiment was further boosted by Samsung Electronics' quarterly earnings announcement showing a 1,810% increase in operating profit to 8.94 trillion won year-over-year.
