Japan's Net External Assets Fall to Third Globally as of End-2025, Up 4.4% YoY

According to Japan's Ministry of Finance, as of the end of 2025, Japan's net external assets stood at 561.75 trillion yen (approximately $3.53 trillion at 159 yen per dollar), up 4.4% year-over-year. Japan's global ranking dropped from second to third place, according to the data released on May 26.
