Japan to Procure 27,500 Nvidia Rubin Chips for Domestic Robot AI Development

According to Bloomberg, Japan plans to procure 27,500 Nvidia Rubin chips to develop domestic robotic AI models. Newly established Noetra Corp. will oversee the initiative and build data centers to support the project. The Japanese government is providing approximately 387.3 billion yen ($2.4 billion) in funding through March 2027. Preferred Networks Inc., backed by SoftBank and Toyota, along with NEC and dozens of other enterprises, are collaborating on the project.
