Iraq and Syria to Sign Oil Pipeline Construction Agreement on July 26

According to Jin10, Iraq and Syria will sign a pipeline construction agreement on July 26. Iraq's cabinet authorized the General Manager of the Basra Oil Company to sign a memorandum of understanding with Syria's oil ministry to build pipeline infrastructure connecting domestic oil fields to export crude oil to global markets via the Mediterranean Sea. The cabinet also instructed the oil ministry to sign an MOU with an enterprise alliance comprising ConocoPhillips, TI Capital, and Novatera to initiate consultations on exploration and development assessments of the Akkas oil and gas field and surrounding areas.
