Iran's Former IRGC Commander Calls U.S. 14-Point Proposal 'Unrealistic,' Demands 'Tangible Benefits'

According to The Wall Street Journal citing Iran’s Press TV, on May 7, former Islamic Revolutionary Guard commander Mohsen Rezaei rejected the U.S. 14-point proposal as ‘unrealistic.’ Rezaei emphasized that Iran would not allow the U.S. to reopen the Strait of Hormuz under an impractical plan and then withdraw from conflict without compensating Iran for damages. He stressed that meaningful negotiations must include ‘tangible benefits’ rather than what he termed ‘empty gestures,’ adding that Iran will continue demanding reparations and its rights even if the U.S. withdraws from the region.
