Iran Reiterates Commitment to Uranium Enrichment Rights on June 21, Denies Nuclear Weapons Ambitions

According to Iran's state news agency, on June 21, President Pezeshkian reiterated that Iran will not manufacture nuclear weapons but will not abandon uranium enrichment rights. Pezeshkian stated that the U.S. seeks assurance Iran will not develop nuclear weapons, and while Iran has had no intention to do so, "it is clear that Iran will never give up its uranium enrichment rights, which the U.S. must accept."

Under the U.S.-Iran understanding agreement, $6 billion in Iranian funds held in Qatar will be unfrozen, with Iran's Central Bank overseeing allocation discussions.
