Iran Refuses to Seek U.S. Talks, Holds Firm on Strait of Hormuz Stance

According to Iran's state news agency IRNA, Deputy Foreign Minister Kaziminejad stated on July 14 that Iran will not initiate negotiations with the United States. The official emphasized that Iran will not retreat from its principled position on the Strait of Hormuz due to pressure, adding that Iran did not leave the negotiating table.

Kaziminejad also said Iran and Oman discussed proposals during recent talks in Muscat regarding maritime routes through the strait. He stated that Iran proposed establishing a new shipping corridor as an alternative to the divided northern and southern routes, to ensure security and prevent tensions.
