According to Iran's Revolutionary Guards, on May 28-29, Iranian forces launched major missile and drone strikes on a U.S. base in Kuwait in response to the attack on Abasa port, marking a new military operational procedure. The U.S. military confirmed intercepting five Iranian drones.
The Iranian military also issued warning shots at four vessels near the Strait of Hormuz, warning it will respond "decisively" to any disruption. Meanwhile, negotiations over a U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding remain stalled, with Tehran insisting frozen assets must be unconditionally released and rejecting any agreement not aligned with national interests.
