Huawei Releases Open-Source Pangu 2.0 With Up to 505B Parameters and 512K Context on June 12

According to PANews, on June 12, Huawei unveiled open-source large language model openPangu 2.0 at HDC 2026, available in Pro and Flash versions, both supporting 512K context window. Pangu 2.0 Pro features 505 billion total parameters with 18 billion activated parameters, while Pangu 2.0 Flash has 92 billion total parameters with 6 billion activated parameters. Huawei claimed single-card throughput on its Ascend AI processors can reach 2x that of mainstream open-source models and offers enhanced compatibility with HarmonyOS. The company plans to gradually open-source 7 components starting June 30, including pre-training code, post-training code, and training operators.
