Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index Falls 405 Points, Breaking Below 23,000; Down 5.24% for the Week

Hong Kong stocks retreated today as the Hang Seng Index fell 405 points to close at 22,671, down 1.76%, breaching the 23,000-point support level during intraday trading. The National Index dropped 147 points (1.94%) to 7,460, while the Tech Index declined 150 points (3.41%) to 4,255. For the week, the Hang Seng accumulated losses of 1,252 points (5.24%), declining in four of five trading days. Daily turnover reached 342.1 billion Hong Kong dollars.
