HD Korea Shipbuilding Secures $16.38B Orders in H1 2026, Exceeds Annual Target

According to Yonhap Infomax, HD Korea Shipbuilding and Offshore Engineering achieved $16.38 billion in new orders during the first half of 2026, reaching 96.2% of its annual target by late July. HD Hyundai Heavy Industries has already exceeded its yearly goal.

The company secured 38 very large gas carriers (VLGC), 17 liquefied natural gas (LNG) carriers, one floating liquefied natural gas (FSRU) unit, and multiple tankers including very large crude carriers (VLCC) and container ships, reflecting a selective order strategy focused on high-margin vessel types.
