GoMining Mines First Known Bitcoin Block Using Stratum V2 Protocol on June 25

BTC-1.26%

GoMining mined the first known Bitcoin block using the Stratum V2 protocol on June 25, 2026, in collaboration with the DMND mining pool. The block was produced via Stratum V2's Job Declaration functionality, enabling GoMining to construct and submit its own block template rather than relying on the pool to determine transaction selection. The block contained transactions linked to GoBTC Pay, an open-source Bitcoin instant payments protocol developed by GoMining.

Mark Zalan, CEO of GoMining, stated: "For years, mining pools have largely determined which transactions are included in Bitcoin blocks. By creating our own block template and including GoBTC Pay transactions, we're demonstrating one of the practical capabilities that Stratum V2 makes possible."
