According to a statement on July 2, blockchain privacy firm Fhenix announced the acquisition of Sunscreen, a fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) developer for Web3 applications. Sunscreen founder Ravital Solomon will join Fhenix to lead its cryptographic research operations.

The consolidated team will focus on developing scalable, quantum-resistant FHE systems for financial services, digital payments, identity verification and AI applications. Fhenix plans to deploy a quantum-safe privacy layer across Ethereum, Arbitrum and Base networks. The acquisition combines the firms' expertise in advanced cryptography, TFHE and BFV encryption schemes, and post-quantum security solutions.
