U.S. Markets Close All Day on July 3 for Independence Day Holiday

U.S. financial markets, including stock and bond markets, will be closed all day on July 3 (Friday) to observe Independence Day and mark the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence. Since July 4 falls on Saturday this year, markets observed the holiday early on Friday by convention. Bond markets already closed at 2 p.m. on July 2 (Thursday), and futures trading sessions were shortened accordingly. Ahead of the long weekend, the Dow Jones reached all-time highs, though chip stocks weighed on Nasdaq performance. Markets are expected to resume normal trading on July 7 (Monday).
