ECB Survey: Eurozone Consumers Cut Inflation Expectations to 3.5% in May, Down from 4.0% in April

According to a European Central Bank survey released Friday (June 26), eurozone consumers lowered inflation expectations for the next 12 months from 4.0% in April to 3.5% in May. Long-term expectations remained unchanged, with three-year expectations holding at 2.9% and five-year expectations at 2.4%. The survey was based on responses from approximately 19,000 adults across 11 eurozone countries. Financial markets currently price in 1–2 additional ECB rate hikes, with markets not fully pricing in the next move until autumn.
