DS Securities Raises KOSPI Target to 9,000 Points, Citing Excessive Selloff

According to DS Securities research analyst Yang Hyung-mo, the brokerage upgraded its second-half KOSPI target to 9,000 points today, arguing that the recent market decline has been excessive. Yang stated that even assuming a worst-case scenario of 30% earnings decline, the KOSPI index remains undervalued. He attributed recent weakness to China's self-developed semiconductor equipment, Iran tensions, and growing U.S. rate increase discussions, characterizing these as signals of market transition rather than fresh headwinds. Yang expects a quick rebound as uncertainty premiums contract.
