Databricks Introduces Omnigent, Open-Source AI Agent Orchestration Layer, on June 15

Databricks introduced Omnigent on June 15, an open-source orchestration layer for AI agents across multiple models and frameworks. The tool can supervise Claude Code, Codex, Pi, and custom YAML-defined agents in a single session while enforcing policies to pause risky actions, cap spending, and limit tool access. Omnigent is available in alpha under the Apache 2.0 license. The launch responds to growing AI agent governance needs, with Boomi reporting that 82% of organizations expect to fully integrate AI agents into workflows.
