Copper and Brent Crude Oil Surge in Volume and Open Interest on CME on July 14

According to CME data, on July 14, copper and Brent crude oil surged in both trading volume and open interest, while silver and natural gas cooled. Copper volume rose 6,410 contracts to 56,166 and open interest increased 3,415 to 259,598, while Brent crude oil volume jumped 239,188 to 433,687 and open interest climbed 3,233 to 247,323. In contrast, silver volume and open interest both declined by 106 and 208 contracts respectively, and natural gas volume fell 56,352 to 438,598 with open interest down 855 to 1,663,885. WTI crude oil volume surged 546,718 to 1,704,857 but open interest fell 2,716 to 1,877,010. Gold volume dropped 6,319 but open interest rose 4,246.
