GateNews
On May 26, China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released its 2026 automotive standardization work guidelines. The roadmap prioritizes autonomous driving and intelligent connected vehicles, including advancing mandatory national standards for autonomous driving systems and simulation testing methods. MIIT will promote release of combined driving assistance system standards, complete reviews of heavy-duty vehicle emergency braking and lane-keeping systems, and finalize standards for autonomous valet parking. Additional focus areas include digital key technology, anti-collision communications, vehicle operating systems, cybersecurity requirements, and functional safety standards for key electronic control systems including battery management, motors, and line-controlled chassis components.
