China to Build and Renovate 770,000 Kilometers of Underground Pipelines During 15th Five-Year Plan

According to China's Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, the country will build and renovate approximately 770,000 kilometers of underground utility pipelines during the 15th Five-Year Plan period, said Director Chen Shaopeng at a State Council policy briefing on June 8.

The breakdown includes 200,000 kilometers of gas pipelines, 175,000 kilometers of drainage pipelines, 175,000 kilometers of water supply pipelines, 100,000 kilometers of sewage pipelines, and 120,000 kilometers of heating pipelines. China's total underground pipeline network currently spans 3.9 million kilometers, with approximately 7,700 kilometers of comprehensive underground corridors completed to date.
