According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, China released a revised implementation plan on May 14 to set a target of maintaining at least 130,000 large-scale hog farms nationally. The target was based on year-end 2025 farm registration data and current industry trends.

The ministry requires provincial authorities to maintain overall stability in large-scale hog farm numbers and prohibits arbitrary facility demolition. Farms must undergo formal registration according to livestock facility management regulations.
