According to China’s National Bureau of Statistics on May 18, the macroeconomic policy toolkit remains rich and the country has sufficient capacity for both cross-cyclical and counter-cyclical adjustments. Wang Guanhua, deputy director of the National Economic Accounting Department and spokesperson of the National Bureau of Statistics, made the statement at a State Council Information Office press conference, noting that policymakers are enhancing coordination across regions and departments to support economic resilience and manage potential risks.
