According to National Bureau of Statistics spokesperson Wang Guanhua, on May 18, April’s consumer prices remained on a mild upward trend, with international crude oil price fluctuations having limited impact on domestic oil prices. Wang stated that the effects were concentrated in specific product categories, reflecting structural characteristics. While acknowledging that crude price volatility will inevitably continue to influence domestic prices, Wang emphasized that China’s adequate commodity and service supply, stable energy security, resilient supply chains, and effective price support measures for essential goods provide a solid foundation for price stability.
