China Eastern Airlines Forecasts H1 2026 Net Loss of 1.8-2.4 Billion RMB

According to an announcement released on July 14, China Eastern Airlines (00670) forecasts a net loss attributable to shareholders of 1.8 billion to 2.4 billion RMB for the first half of 2026. The company also projects a non-GAAP net loss of 2.7 billion to 3.3 billion RMB for the same period. The airline attributed the losses primarily to a significant surge in jet fuel prices since March, driven by geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which has posed major operational challenges for the aviation industry.
