On May 20, China's National Development and Reform Commission urgently allocated 50 million yuan in central budget investment to support Hunan Province's emergency recovery from severe flooding, according to state media. The National Disaster Prevention, Mitigation and Relief Committee activated a Level IV national emergency response. The funds will prioritize reconstruction of damaged roads, bridges, schools, and hospitals to restore normal production and living order in affected areas.
